I’m always excited for food, and this green rice is no exception. Before we get into the recipe, let’s talk about “coco-for garlic” from Essie Spice.

I normally use seasonings like bouillon cubes but they have ingredients that are not good for the body. Or I just use salt and pepper, which doesn’t give enough flavor for me. These cubes contain preservatives, artificial coloring and other ingredients like monosodium glutamate (MSG)  and disodium guanylate.  Spices from  Essie spice contain no artificial preservatives, MSG or artificial coloring. They are gluten Free, vegetarian, contain no fillers, and taste great. So if you like to eat healthy but don’t want bland or tasteless food, grab a jar of Essiespice for more flavorful healthy meals.

This recipe looks complicated but I promise, it is so simple. I used the “coco-for garlic” spice on the salmon fillet and baked it, so simple. The green rice was also made with “coco-for garlic” and the green color is from spinach. yes!  I then garnished with some tomato slices.


  • Salmon fillets or any protein(chicken,beef or veal)
  • Coco-for garlic spice
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 Green bell pepper
  • 1 cup packed spinach
  • 1 1/2 cup rice
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Tomato

Clean salmon fillets and Place in a ziploc bag, Add spoonfuls of coco-for garlic spice, close the ziploc bag and shake it all up coating the salmon fillets. Put ziploc bag in the refrigerator for about an hour, then bake  at 290ºf (132ºc) for 20 minutes.

Put spinach and green bell pepper with 1/2 cup of water  in a blender, blend  and set aside. Heat up vegetable oil in a pan and saute one teaspoon of coco-for garlic spice in the oil until fragrant.   Add rice to the pan and fry  for about 2 minutes. Add  salt and 2 cups of water, cover with a tight lid and bring to a boil. 

Pour the spinach mixture to the pan after the first  2 cups of water is evaporated. Stir, cover and simmer till rice is completely cooked through. Serve with whatever protein you have. Chicken, eggs, beef, veal, etc. In my case I used salmon and some tomato slices. Enjoy!
